This original documentary by TheGather.org was shot and edited by Joe Wilmot. The story follows Henry Emson's challenge to plant 100,000 Giant Sequoias in the UK, and it captures one of the most ambitious climate and rewilding projects ever attempted on British soil. We had the privilege of shooting and editing the entire film. From sweeping drone shots of ancient landscapes to intimate interviews with the people behind the project, we crafted a visual narrative that brings this monumental mission to life. The story follows The Great Reserve as they work to reintroduce Giant Sequoias across the UK, trees that can live for thousands of years and lock away vast amounts of carbon. Through every frame, we wanted viewers to feel the scale, urgency, and hope driving this legacy of climate action and biodiversity.
